Hyperhidrosis

Are you suffering form hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)? This condition affects about 2-3% of the population. It most commonly affects forehead, face, underarm, hands and feet. It can be quite embarrassing and can limit social activities. Aluminum-based products (in solution form or gel form) help to reduce sweating by blocking the sweat glands. Topical glycopyrrolate is an effective and safe option.

Glycopyrrolate applied topically can penetrate the skin to block the nerve signals that stimulate the sweat glands, and therefore resulting in a reduction of sweat secretion. It is to be applied to affected area at bedtime. Clinical studies have shown that excessive underarm sweating, facial sweating and diabetic gustatory sweating (profuse sweating with eating) being treated successfully with topical glycopyrrolate.

Topical glycopyrrolate has been shown to be well tolerated with minimal side effects. It can also be used in conjunction with aluminum based products such as Drysol or Hydrosal to enhance the effects in severe cases of hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).
